The Pathway Project

The Pathway Project has expanded from one program to three programs with varying services to better meet the needs of the community we serve. Read more to learn about each program!

Pathway Program

The Pathway Project is a collaboration between selected employers in Montgomery County, PA and Along The Way. The employers we work with have demonstrated a commitment to workplace excellence, including investing in their workforce through professional development opportunities, providing good benefits, and are innovators in responding to their employees’ needs. Through this collaboration, income-qualifying single mothers who already work at our employer partner sites or who Along The Way refers to employment at their sites are eligible for Pathway Project participation.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Single headed household; sizes 2-4

  • Residence: Montgomery County, Bucks County, Philadelphia County

  • Income is at or below the 350% FPL

  • Stable housing

  • Reliable Transportation: Car, License, Plan in Place

  • Unemployed or Underemployed

  • Children are ages 0-16

Program Requirements

  1. Complete application

  2. Complete initial call with our intake team and supportive eligibility documents

  3. Complete screening call with our Director of Programs

Program Benefits

Four phase program to help a participant gain the stability, skills and support needed to thrive in long-term employment.

  1. Stabilization Phase: Case management service addresses basic needs and connects the participant to community resources

  2. Workforce Development Phase: Case management services connects the participant to partnering career counseling, training, and skill development resources

  3. Employment Matching Phase: Case management services connects the participant to Along The Way employer partners

  4. Child Care + Support Phase: In-home child care and access to long-term case management services

Child Care To Work

The Child Care to Work program provides essential support for mothers of Montgomery County. The initiative addresses care gaps by connecting families with trained caregivers who deliver personalized care in a familiar environment, their home. Funded through Along The Way’s ARPA grant and local sponsorships, the program ensures that eligible families can access reliable child care while easing the financial burden on parents to maintain employment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Single headed household

  • Residence: Montgomery County

  • Income is at or below the 350% FPL

  • Stable housing

  • Reliable Transportation

  • Employed or Secured Employment with a start date

  • Working non-traditional hours

Program Requirements

  • Complete application

  • Complete initial call with our intake team and supportive eligibility documents

  • Complete screening call with our Director of Programs

  • Complete meet & greet with caregiver team

Program Benefits

  • 240 hour child care scholarship

  • Matched sponsor to subsidize cost of child care services

  • Reliable, affordable, accessible child care during evenings, nights, weekends

  • Community Connections Services

Transportation Program

A unique collaboration between CADCOM + Along The Way where financial empowerment meets enhanced mobility.

Reliable transportation solutions + essential financial literacy skills = Newfound independence and the opportunity to thrive at work.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Meet the 200% Federal Poverty Guideline

  • Employed for at least 3 months

  • Valid Drivers License

Program Requirements

  1. Complete pre-eligibility application + meet eligibility requirements OR receive a recommendation for enrollment in our universal eligibility process

  2. Complete enrollment appointment

Program Benefits

  • Save $1, get $4 towards a car purchase

  • Savings plan for $1,000

  • Up to $4,000 savings match

  • Financial Literacy Program

  • Car Maintenance Workshop

Disclaimer: At this time, Along The Way does not bill health insurance for any of our services. However, the state of Pennsylvania is exploring potential expansions of Medicaid benefits that could, in the future, include services like those Along The Way provides. While there is no immediate change, and Pennsylvania has not yet introduced any formal plans to cover our services, we are proactively collecting health insurance information to be prepared for any potential updates. By gathering this information now, we aim to ensure that if such changes occur, we can quickly and efficiently provide expanded services to eligible families.
