The Board of Along The Way supports the work of the organization and provides mission-based leadership and governance. Our mission is to provide community, acceptance, and hope to women along life’s journey. We fulfill our mission, primarily through our flagship child care support program that provides free, quality, in-home child care support to single mothers on nights & weekends so they can invest in their families through work &/or school. We know that a single mother that does not have safe and reliable child care, cannot work and is likely to remain in poverty. The organization’s daily operations are led by the Executive Director, alongside the Associate Director. As a startup organization, the ideal candidates will be deeply committed to our mission and able to invest time (15-20 hours per month) as a fully participating board member, in order to ensure the success in the development of the necessary infrastructure for sustainable growth and increases in this vital community service to vulnerable families.

ADVISORY BOARD
We are seeking people that would be willing to help in providing strategic advice to the management of our non-profit organization. We are also looking for this person to work on a committee. On this committee, the person would be working to create awareness in our community and in any groups or local entities to which one might belong or work. The members will work closely with the Director, the Board of Directors, our Development Support Specialist, and our Development Committee.
Full disclosure: this will be a “working Advisory Board”. Participation is key to help us to move forward with our services and mission.
- Term - two year (three term limit)
- Monthly time demand approx 4 hours
- Donating a minimum of $600 a year, $50 a month
DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
We are seeking people that would be willing to help raise funding, to create awareness in our community and in any groups or local entities to which one might belong or work. This person would also be willing to recruit others to join in and donate as well as to help with our annual event, writing grants and other funding opportunities and cultivate way to develop our organization. This committee members will work closely with the Director, our Development Support Specialist, and our marketing and writing/research volunteers.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
We are seeking people that would be willing to use their talents, real life experience and/or their business understanding to help govern our organization. We are also looking for our BOD to raise funding, to create awareness in our community and in any groups or local entities to which one might belong or work. This person would also be willing to recruit others to join in and donate, to participate in the planning and execution of our annual event, plus other ways to develop and strategically grow our organization. The members will work closely with the Director, our Advisory Board and our Development Support Specialist.
