Need some inspiration for your campaign? No problem! Scroll through our existing campaigns for creative ideas on how to raise money for your cause. We’ve had student groups raise money for a week’s worth of child care, a 5 year old child help “the mommies” by drawing a picture to the biggest donor of her campaign, and much more! Perhaps if you’re a musician, you can host a benefit concert? Are you a business owner; maybe your campaign donors can be entered into a raffle for a desirable prize your business offers? The options are only limited by our creativity so let’s get thinking about all the ways we can make our community better!
Where does my donation go?
Members of The Light can be assured that their contributions go directly towards paying for child care for the single mother families we serve. With no brick & mortar facility, our single biggest expense is not rent or even utilities, but is paying fair wages to the highly trained & qualified caregivers who love & care for children so moms have peace of mind when they are out working.
Mothers are eligible to receive up to 15 hours per week of child care support, which amounts to 780 hours per year! Along The Way provides quality child care when schools & daycares are closed and there are no other reliable, affordable options for families struggling to gain financial stability. With 15 hours of weekly support, our caregivers can get children off the bus and care for them until mom gets home from work every weeknight. If a mom needs care for 1-2 overnight work shifts per week, she can get that support too! Or maybe, she works or goes to school on the weekend, in which case, we also have her covered!

Provides 170 hours of child care support.
This gift amounts to 11 weeks of kids receiving consistent & responsive caregiving while their mother is working hard. It also means that because of your gift, mom has nearly 3 months to earn extra money by taking on extra shifts at work. She is able to show her employer that she is not only able to take on extra shifts, but she is reliable and can be depended upon to carry out their mission. It’s a win-win-win for families, employers, & communities.

Provides 85 hours of child care support.
This gift amounts to 6 weeks of kids getting nurturing care, homework help, creative play, and being able to stay in their own home, sleep in their own beds, and have the consistency all children need while their mom is out working hard.

Provides 40 hours of child care support.
A gift at this level ensures safe, high-quality child care for nearly 3 weeks. If you are new to our organization & want to see what we are all about, this is a great gifting level to start at. With 17 members of The Light gifting at this level, we can work together to bring this essential support to a family for an entire year! It takes a village, right?!
